Bryan Co fills in as Miaa OIC while GM is suspended — DOTr

MANILA, Philippines — Manila International Airport Authority (Miaa) Senior Assistant General Manager Bryan Co will serve as the agency’s officer-in-charge while General Manage Cesar Chiong is on preventive suspension, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced on Wednesday.

“Sa ngayon ang ipapalit namin ay yung next in line muna, ang Senior Assistant General Manager ay si Mr. Bryan Co,” DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista said in an interview on ABS-CBN’s TeleRadyo.

(The Senior Assistant General Manager, Mr. Bryan Co will take over from Chiong.)

Bautista said Co would serve as the OIC for the entire duration of Chiong’s suspension.

“We are working with our legal team, siguro hihingi kami ng motion to lift the suspension. We were given 15 days to file the motion,” he added.

On Tuesday, Chiong announced that he was placed on preventive suspension by the Ombudsman due to an anonymous grave abuse of authority complaint.

His suspension came just a day after a power outage struck Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Monday.
