Man drowns in Camarines Sur resort

LEGAZPI CITY — A 45-year-old man drowned on Sunday, April 30, in a beach resort in Balatan town in Camarines Sur, the local police reported on Monday.

Colonel Julius Caesar Domingo, Camarines Sur police chief, said in a report that Joevel Silvestre, a resident of Naga City, was found floating and unconscious at around 10 a.m. by another guest in shallow water at Baresbesan Beach Resort in Barangay Pararao.

The lifeguards immediately gave first aid to the victim and brought him to a hospital, where he was declared dead.

Domingo said the police investigated the incident and requested an autopsy of the victim. INQ
