Beach resort worker drowns in Biliran

ORMOC CITY — A worker of a beach resort in Barangay Atipolo, Naval town, Biliran province died after drowning on Saturday afternoon, April 29.

Major Chamberline Ludevise, chief of the Naval Police Station, identified the victim as Eduard Delantar, 49, and worker of WAD Beach Resort.

Initial investigation conducted by the police showed that the victim swam toward a Jetski which was anchored 60 meters away from the shore.

The victim drowned in the process, said Ludevise.

People in the area tried to save Delantar but to no avail.

The victim was rushed to the Biliran Provincial Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

The local police are conducting an investigation to determine why Delantar drowned when he was known to be a good swimmer.
