BISU graduate ranks 9th in civil engineering exams

TAGBILARAN CITY — A graduate of Bohol Island State University (BISU) here secured the ninth spot in the April 2023 Civil Engineers Licensure Examination.

Crisnico Espinosa Peligrino got a score of 89.35. He shared the same spot with Jester Javier Silapan of University of Southern Mindanao-Kabacan and Daniello Amoroso Camilon of Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Main Sta. Mesa

Basdio Elementary School in Guindulman town where Peligrino finished his elementary in 2011 to 2012 sent congratulatory messages on Facebook.

Peligrino will receive P50,000 from the provincial government of Bohol.

Last Feb. 14, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) approved an ordinance extending cash incentives to Boholanos who make it to the top ten of professional licensure and the Bar examinations.

Board Member Aldner Damalerio, who authored the ordinance, said granting of recognition and incentives by the provincial government of Bohol to Boholano topnotcher(s) of board and bar examinations is one way of inspiring Boholanos to strive for greater heights of academic excellence.

“It is also another way of expressing gratitude to Boholano topnotcher(s) and their families for the admirable distinction and meritorious reputation they brought to the province of Bohol,” Damalerio said.

A Boholano who ranks first in any professional examination will be given P100,000.

Meanwhile, those who will rank second to fifth and sixth to tenth will get P75,000 and P50,000 respectively.

They will also be given priority in hiring for employment in the provincial government of Bohol, subject to the existing rules and regulations of the Civil Service Commission.
