Bohol graduate is 4th in mechanical engineering exams

TAGBILARAN CITY—A graduate from Bohol province made it to the top 10 of the mechanical engineering examination held in February 2022.

Ralph Tusoy Ecat of Bohol Island State University (BISU) – Tagbilaran City Campus placed fourth with a rating of 94.80 percent. He shared the spot with Clynt Gumalal Bulosan of Andres Bonifacio College and Mark Vincent Cruz Layug of Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University.

Ecat graduated from the Dagohoy National High School.

Mark Anthony Salazar Arcayan from the Visayas State University in Baybay City, Leyte, ranked first with a rating of 96.60 percent.

Two topnotchers from the University of Cebu, Mark Allen Gabutero Armenion, ranked second, with a 95.70-percent score, while Louie Genobiagon de Los Santos placed 10th with 93.80 percent.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 2,121 out of 3,780 passed the mechanical engineer licensure examination given by the Board of Mechanical Engineering in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Rosales, Tacloban, and Zamboanga last February.

The PRC said BISU-Tagbilaran ranked first among the mechanical engineering schools in the country with a 90.70-percent rating, where 78 out of 86 examinees passed the examination.

This was followed by Batangas State University, with 89.20 percent, and Sorsogon State College, with 81.36 percent.
