MANILA, Philippines–More than 250 wanted persons were arrested in Caloocan City in the first quarter of 2023, a police report said.
Of the 250, 195 arrests were made under the list of wanted persons, while 53 were among the most wanted persons, according to the report submitted by Caloocan Chief of Police Col. Ruben Lacuesta.
Additionally, seven individuals from the top 10 most wanted persons were apprehended by the Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS), Lacuesta said.
“Among the cases of those we arrested are robbery, carnapping, homicide, murder, and rape. There are also those who violated the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and the Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act,” said Lacuesta.
Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan praised the Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) for their accomplishment.
“This is a huge achievement for the Caloocan Police. It proves that they are not neglecting their duties and are continuing to support our call to clean up the list of most wanted persons in Caloocan,” he said.
He also mentioned that the Caloocan City Peace and Order Council is developing new resolutions and policies to intensify the anti-criminality campaign in the city.
“Our goal is to further lower the crime rate in the city. If it is possible to have a zero crime rate, why not? We will continue to look for ways to strengthen peace and order in Caloocan and also to strengthen the trust of our citizens in the police and in justice,” Along said.
