MANILA, Philippines — Over 73,000 employment opportunities will be up for grabs on Labor Day (May 1) in various job fair sites nationwide, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced in a statement on Wednesday.
According to DOLE, it will roll out a total of 73,779 employment vacancies in face-to-face job fairs conducted by 808 employers in 42 sites in various parts of the country in line with the Labor Day theme this year – “Pabahay, Bilihing Abot-Presyo, Benepisyo ng Matatag na Trabaho Para sa Manggagawang Pilipino” [housing, affordable prices of goods, the benefits of a stable job for Filipino workers].
“Among the top industries are BPO [Business Process Outsourcing], manufacturing, financial and insurance activities, manpower services, and sales and marketing. The top vacancies are for customer service representatives, production workers/operators, financial consultants, service crew, and sales agents or sales clerks,” the DOLE said.
“The number of vacancies is expected to increase in the succeeding days,” it added.
DOLE said jobseekers attending the fairs should bring their resume, a certificate of employment for those formerly employed, their diploma, and their transcript of records.
DOLE’s main job fair site will be held on April 30 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City, where 125 employers will offer 12,000 jobs.
