MANILA, Philippines — Police arrested two Chinese suspects in the illegal detention of a man in Parañaque City, the Southern Police District (SPD) said on Wednesday.

According to SPD, the Tambo Police Sub-Station officers identified and collared suspects Wenlong Huang, 29, and Weiming Shi, 26, on Bradco Avenue in Barangay Tambo.

Based on the report, the suspects held Tang Deshui against his will in a spa in the area and demanded a ransom of P300,000 for his release.

The arrest stemmed from a report by Deshui’s friend, Kyla Galingana Santos, who sought police assistance.

“The suspects are currently under police custody, and appropriate charges will be filed against them through inquest proceedings before the Office of the City Prosecutor in Parañaque City,” the police said
