Tornado destroys 25 houses in Maguindanao

COTABATO CITY, Philippines—A tornado struck a coastal section of the municipality of Parang, Maguindanao, on Thursday afternoon destroying at least 25 houses in the village of Polloc, an official said.

Village secretary Abubakar Abdul said no one was hurt by the twister.

He said villagers first noticed a thunderstorm and a buildup of thick black clouds over the village at about 3 p.m. then a very strong wind hit the barangay, blowing away huts, corrugated rooking sheets, plastic materials and tree trunks.
