Face mask also a must in Cadiz gov’t offices

/ 05:00 AM April 20, 2023

BACOLOD CITY—Another mayor in Western Visayas has ordered the mandatory wearing of face masks in government offices to prevent another surge in COVID-19 cases. Through an executive
order on April 17, Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. of Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, required all people entering City Hall and other government offices to wear masks. While only two cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Cadiz as of April 15, Escalante said people should not be complacent as the virus continued to pose a threat to public health and safety. The policy was made six days after Mayor Jerry Treñas issued the same directive in Iloilo City. —CARLA GOMEZ
