MANILA, Philippines — A series of anti-drug operations in Quezon City has resulted in the arrest of 294 suspects and confiscation of over P4 million worth of crystal meth or “shabu” and marijuana, the police said on Wednesday.
According to Quezon City Police District (QCPD) report, its police personnel conducted 53 anti-illegal drug operations from April 10 to 16 under the directive of National Capital Region Police Office chief Maj. Gen. Edgar Allan Okubo.
During thse dates, authorities collared 96 drug suspects — 46 were users, while 50 were pushers — and seized 639.3 grams of shabu and 104 grams of marijuana, amounting to P4,359,720.
Following the arrest of 96 drug suspects, police tracked 68 wanted individuals. Of that number, 37 were listed as most wanted, while 31 others were also wanted for a pending warrant of arrest.
Meanwhile, authorities apprehended 112 suspects for illegal gambling and seized gambling paraphernalia, and P14,210 bet money.
On the other hand, 18 suspects were arrested for illegally possessing firearms, the QCPD said.
All suspects are currently under police custody, it added.
