14 drug suspects busted in Quezon City, over P500,000 shabu seized
MANILA, Philippines — A series of buy-bust operations resulted in the arrest of 14 drug suspects in Quezon City recently.
In a statement on Friday, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said that authorities confiscated an estimated P509,000 worth of crystal meth or “shabu” and arrested 14 individuals from Novaliches, Cubao, Fairview, Project 4, Payatas, Lagro, and Kaligayahan.
The police said suspects Warlita Paguirigan, Lorie Cescar, Catrina Celario and Hiede Miranda were arrested in Barangay San Bartolome.
Confiscated from the suspects’ possessions were 50 grams of shabu worth an estimated P340,000.00 and a mobile phone.
Two more suspects, identified as Maydylie Roxas and Ana Joy Grande, were collared in another operation on the same day in Barangay San Martin De Pores, Cubao, by the District Drug Enforcement Unit.
Article continues after this advertisementThey yielded 10 grams of shabu worth around P68,000, a sling bag, and a mobile phone.
Article continues after this advertisementAnother suspect, Jerome Bundoc, was arrested by personnel from Project 4 Police Station in Barangay Bagumbuhay, which resulted in the confiscation of 0.3 grams of shabu (P2,040).
The Pasong Putik Proper Police Station reported the arrest of Ernesto Hadlis and Jofrey Fererros along Quirino Highway, Barangay Kaligayahan.
On March 16, police arrested Rael Roxas in Fairview and Ferdinand Mendoza and Gloria Mendoza in Barangay Payatas B.
Alvin Endriga and John Kenneth Passion were also arrested by operatives from the Pasong Putik Proper Police Station along Mindanao Extension, Barangay Greater Lagro.
The suspects are currently under police custody and will face a formal complaint for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
