Bicol buy-busts netted over P1.6M in illegal drugs from April 10-16

In the Bicol Region, anti-narcotics operatives recover more than P1.6 million worth of "shabu" and marijuana

LEGAZPI CITY — Anti-narcotics operatives recovered more than P1.6 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) and marijuana in 17 separate operations conducted from April 10-16 in the Bicol region.

Bicol police spokesperson Lt. Col. Maria Luisa Calubaquib said in a report that around 241.37 grams of shabu and 12 pieces of cultivated marijuana were recovered during the operations.

Calubaquib said the biggest operation was in San Pascual town in Masbate on April 13. Manuel Canoy, 57, and his son, Jacob, 28, were arrested in Barangay (village) Bolod for possessing P856,106.40 worth of shabu.

On April 14, authorities also recovered 50 grams or P340,000 worth of shabu from Jomar Dalmacio, 25, in Barangay Baybay.

The other illegal drugs were confiscated in separate operations.

All arrested suspects are facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
