MANILA, Philippines — Search and rescue (SAR) team members of the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (QCDRRMC) freed a commuter whose leg was caught in a drainage canal along Aurora Boulevard on Monday night.
QCDRRMC posted images of the incident on Facebook on Monday showing SAR team members using a power tool to loosen the concrete around the drainage grate and the commuter’s leg.
“A medic calms a commuter who fell on a drainage along Aurora Blvd while search and rescue team members try to free her,” the post reads.
According to the council, the SAR team managed to swiftly free the victim’s legs, with medics promptly attending to her injuries.
The council also advised the public to call their hotline (122) in case of similar and other emergencies.
