MANILA, Philippines — The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said the expanded number coding scheme is suspended on Friday, April 21, for Eid’l Fitr or the Feast of Ramadan.

In a Facebook post on Monday, the MMDA announced the temporary suspension of the number coding scheme after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signed Proclamation No. 201, declaring this Friday a regular holiday.

The MMDA advised drivers to plan and drive safely as another long weekend approaches.

Eid’l Fitr marks the end of the month-long fast of Ramadan, which Muslims worldwide commemorate.
