MMDA suspends coding scheme during Holy Week
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will suspend the number coding scheme during the observance of the Holy Week next month. MMDA chair Romando Artes said on Friday that the number coding scheme will be suspended from April 6 to April 10. Those days have been declared as holidays by the government. The MMDA also created a multiagency command center (MACC) “to ensure a peaceful and meaningful observance of Lent this year.” The MACC, according to Artes, will monitor the “actual status” of major transport terminals all over the capital region, particularly bus terminals, to ensure the safe travel of passengers to their respective destinations. —Dempsey Reyes
