A TEENAGER was killed and a 15-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting incident in barangay Tabunok, Talisay City, southern Cebu, at dawn yesterday.
Mark Saavedra, 18, succumbed to a gunshot wound in the chest. He was declared dead when he was brought to the Vicente Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.
Saavedara’s 15-year-old friend was wounded in the back and arm.
Police said Saavedra and the boy were with a group of friends having a drinking session.
Police said the victim’s group noticed a group of teenagers roaming around near the place where Saavedra’s group was drinking.
When the teenagers passed by in the area again, Saavedra approached them.
Saavedra, however, was met with bullets. The assailants also fired at Saavedra’s companions before fleeing.
The incident happened near the house of Talisay City Councilor Danny Caballero.
Caballero said the place was well lighted but no one was able to see the shooting. CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
