Power failure limits LRT-1 train operations for almost four hours
MANILA, Philippines — The Light Rail Transit-Line 1 (LRT-1) on Thursday enforced a limited operation of trains for almost four hours after a reported power failure affected the Baclaran station.
According to the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), the limited operations were implemented at 1:40 p.m. Full operations were resumed almost four hours later at 5:14 p.m.
The LRMC, in an earlier advisory, explained that the cause of the limited train service was due to a reported power failure at Baclaran Station.
“As part of regular safety protocols, trains are operating only from Roosevelt to Vito Cruz (southbound), and Gil Puyat to Roosevelt (northbound) to allow LRMC personnel to conduct the full assessment and necessary site repairs,” it said.
The LRMC then asked for understanding from the public and the affected passengers of LRT Line 1.
