LIST: Canceled flights due to LPA

MANILA, Philippines — Some flights from Manila were either canceled or diverted on Thursday, said the Manila International Airport Authority (Miaa), due to inclement weather caused by a low-pressure area (LPA) which was formerly Tropical Depression “Amang.”

The Miaa, in an advisory as of 1:33 p.m., said that the following flights were canceled:

CebGo (DG)

PAL Express (2P)

Meanwhile, the following flights, as of 8:20 p.m., have been diverted to land in different airports — the new landing airports are enclosed in parentheses:

Philippine Airlines

Cebu Pacific

Philippines AirAsia

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines

Cathay Pacific

Turkish Airlines

“Some scheduled flights may be disrupted. Passengers are advised to contact their airline for more information and options available,” said the Miaa in its latest advisory.

“We are working with the airlines to mitigate the impact to airport operations, with your safety as our top priority,” it added.

As of 11 a.m., the state weather bureau had lifted all tropical cyclone wind signals in the country after Amang weakened into an LPA.

However, the now-LPA is still expected to bring rain over Central Luzon, Metro Manila, and Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon).

Occasional rain showers should also be expected in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon), Mimaropa (Marinduque, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, Romblon), and Camarines Norte until Friday.
