MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang is hosting a concert on April 22, for its special guests — the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Thursday said Malacañang will host its first “Konsyerto sa Palasyo” (KSP) at 6:30 p.m.
It said the KSP, which is a concert series set in various locations inside the Malacañan Palace, was initiated by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos.
“KSP will feature the country’s best up and coming artists to highlight the nation’s rich culture and world class talent in the performing arts. He also firmly believes that the creative industry should not be left out as the nation takes leaps of progress towards economic recovery,” the PCO said in a statement.
Featured in the upcoming concert are singers, instrumentalists, dancers and movement artists, rappers, spoken word artists, rock vocalists, theater artists, beatbox artists and many more.
The PCO said performers on April 22, hailing from Cebu, Ilocos Norte, Quezon, Cavite, Iloilo, Metro Manila and Davao, will take the Malacañan stage.
“The upcoming ‘Konsyerto sa Palasyo: Awit ng Magiting’ on 22 April 2023 recognizes the Armed Forces for its sacrifices in maintaining the nation’s sovereignty, peace and security,” it said.
The PCO said members of various branches of service of the AFP together with their families will be the guest audiences for the April 22 concert.
It will also be livestreamed via Facebook on Radio Television Malacanang, Office of the President and the Bongbong Marcos Facebook Page.
This is the first in a series of KSP for this year, the PCO said, adding that the public can expect more performances from the country’s talents throughout the year.
It said the event was spearheaded by the Office of the President, PCO, Social Secretary’s Office (SOSEC) and Presidential Broadcast Staff – Radio Television Malacañang (PBS-RTVM).
Malacañan is set to announce the roster of performers in the coming days, the PCO added.
