MANILA, Philippines — The construction of a multi-purpose building in Bayombong town, Nueva Vizcaya province has been completed, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced Tuesday.
The DPWH said in a statement that the P15-million structure aims to provide support to small independent businesses in Bayombong.
According to DPWH Region 2 Director Reynaldo Alconcel, the building already caters to the needs of the community for a variety of products, including meat, fish, dairy products, baked goods, coffee, spices, and various domestic specialties.
He also said that the project comes with several amenities like modern restrooms, parking spaces, a spacious area for vendors and customers, as well as a designated area for dining and communal seating.
DPWH Nueva Vizcaya first district Engineer Marifel Andes said the construction of the multi-purpose building is expected to help “increase the number of independent businesses and create more jobs that may boost the local economy in return.” — Maria Liezl Projella, trainee
