MANILA, Philippines — Retired Professor Elenita “Leni” Carpio-Panganiban passed away Sunday due to cardiac arrest. She was 83.

Elenita was a professor for 37 years at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM), where she also served as associate dean.

She is survived by her husband, retired Supreme Court Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban who is also an Inquirer columnist since his retirement from the judiciary in 2006, their children Marilen and Alex Yaptangco, Dr. Jose Artemio Panganiban III, Celine Hannett, AIM Prof. Maria Theresa and Manuel Mañalac Jr., and Evelyn and Peter Reagan, and 10 grandchildren.

The family requests privacy regarding her passing. Her wake will be from Tuesday to Saturday at the Santuario de San Antonio Convento Gardens in Makati City from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

There will be a mass and novena at 7 p.m. everyday. Inurnment will be on Saturday morning, April 15, at the Santuario de San Antonio.
