DOH ORDERS HOSPITALS TO GO ON ‘CODE WHITE’

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday advised the public to observe proper health protocols as they participate in this year’s Holy Week activities and travel for recreational purposes.

The DOH also reminded locals to wear masks while enjoying the rest of the summer break and performing religious practices this week.

“Through vaccination and adherence to safety precautions, today, we are able to celebrate Holy Week without any restrictions. Hence, we must continue upholding shared responsibility to protect everyone,” the DOH said in a statement.

“Let us all get vaccinated and boosted to strengthen our wall of immunity and help prevent the severe and critical effects brought about by the virus,” it added.

On April 6, OCTA Research fellow Guido David said that the national COVID-19 positivity rate increased to 7.1 percent.

As of April 7, the health department registered 350 new cases, totaling the country’s COVID-19 caseload at 4,083,275.
