LUCENA CITY — A man, who was allegedly drunk, died on Good Friday due to the accidental firing of a gun in Dasmariñas City, Cavite.
The Region 4A police said in a report on Saturday, April 8, that Noli Nadera, who was under the influence of liquor, was seen around 7:30 p.m. by bystanders as he went inside a village watchmen outpost in Barangay Paliparan 3.
A few minutes later, the bystanders heard a gunshot from inside the outpost and saw Nadera’s bloodied body with an improvised shotgun beside him.
The victim died while being taken to Pagamutan ng Dasmariñas.
The report identified the victim as an “outpost helper” and not a village watchman. The police recorded the incident as a case of “accidental firing.”
The report did not state if the firearm was registered with the barangay or illegally owned by the victim.
The police are still investigating the incident.
