MANILA, Philippines— A woman gave birth in front of the Philippine Coast Guard headquarters in Davao City on Thursday, the PCG said on Friday.
In a statement, the PCG said a woman and her partner asked for help to be transported to a hospital when she started experiencing labor pains in front of the Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao Headquarters.
The woman eventually gave birth in front of the PCG office, assisted by Coast Guard personnel, at around 10 p.m. on Thursday.
“Lubos namang nagpasalamat ang bagong panganak na babae at kanyang partner na mga residente ng Barangay Sasa, Davao City sa mabilis at maingat na pagtulong ng PCG,” the agency said in statement.
(The couple, who are residents of Barangay Sasa, expressed their gratitude to PCG personnel for their swift assistance.)
The PCG and the Medical Clinic-Southwestern Mindanao facilitated the transfer of the mother and her newborn child to the Southern Philippines Medical Center, the PCG added. (MJ Soriano, INQUIRER.net trainee)
