MANILA, Philippines — Authorities have arrested four individuals in Makati City for yielding an undocumented firearm and ammunition and suspected crystal meth or “shabu” during a buy-bust operation.
In a report issued Wednesday, the Southern Police District (SPD) said the operation, which was conducted by the operatives of Makati City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit in a house at Barangay Poblacion on April 4, led to the arrest and identification of suspects Benjamin Docena, 56; Ma. Cristina Docena, 53; John Mccormick, 70; and Jazel Anshierina Capati, 30.
According to SPD, Makati City Police Station personnel collared the individuals after a police poseur buyer purchased eight sachets containing shabu worth P691,084.
Aside from the confiscated narcotics, authorities also recovered buy-bust money, a paper bag, a lighter, a plastic box, a weighing scale, plastic sachets, scissors, a .38 revolver, and six pieces of ammunition.
The suspects are currently detained at Makati City Custodial Facility and will be facing complaints for violating the Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
