ORMOC CITY — Police investigators are conducting a thorough investigation over the killing of a multicab driver in Merida town, Leyte on Monday, April 3.

Merida Police Station chief Major Ian Po identified the victim as Reynante Bojos, 39, a resident of Barangay Poblacion in Merida.

An initial investigation conducted by the local police disclosed that the victim was driving his passenger multicab which stopped when one of his passengers disembarked from the vehicle.

However, when the passenger alighted from the vehicle, two unidentified male individuals on board a motorcycle approached the multicab and shot the victim several times using a handgun.

Morados disclosed that the victim was hit in his back, left arm, and neck.

He also said that authorities recovered from the crime scene four empty shells of a .45 caliber pistol.

The victim was brought to the Ormoc District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physicians, he added.
