Man shot dead by drinking buddy in Rizal

LUCENA CITY — Two alleged drug traders were shot and killed Monday in Taytay town, Rizal province.

In a report, the Police Region 4A said Anthony Calvo and one alias “Potchay” had a heated argument after carrying out an illegal drug transaction around 2:30 a.m. in Barangay Sta. Ana.

Suddenly, the unidentified assailant, armed with a handgun, appeared, which prompted Calvo and Potchay to run and escape.

The armed man gave chase and shot the two, hitting them in different parts of their bodies, the police said, adding that the assailant fled after the shooting.

Calvo died on the spot, and Potchay was rushed by rescuers to Amang Rodriguez Memorial Hospital but died while undergoing treatment.

The report did not specify the illegal drugs and volume that were the subject of the altercation between the victims.

The police were conducting further investigation to identify and arrest the killer. INQ
