Alleged robber slain in Cavite ‘shootout’

LUCENA CITY — An alleged notorious robber was shot and killed in an encounter Thursday with police in Rosario town, Cavite province.

The Region IVA police reported on Friday, March 31, that operatives conducted an operation to arrest Aiben Robert Herrera, the primary suspect behind the string of robbery incidents in Maragondon town.

The police launched the operation in Barangay Salcedo II in Noveleta town at 10:45 p.m.

The suspect eluded arrest and fled toward Barangay Ligtong in nearby Rosario town but was intercepted by another group of policemen.
