CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga — Eva Air made its maiden flight on Thursday to the Clark International Airport (CRK), giving travelers daily connecting flights to Asia, Europe, Australia, and North America.
The inaugural flight from Taipei carried Eva Air president Clay Sun and 185 passengers on board Airbus A321, according to Lipad (Luzon International Premiere Airport Development), a private consortium operating the CRK.
BR 233 was given a water cannon salute as it taxied into CRK’s P15-billion passenger terminal.
Ambassador Peiyung Hsu, a Taipei Economic and Cultural Office representative, welcomed the arriving passengers.
The welcoming party included Delfin Lorenzana, chair of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority; Joshua Bingcang, president and CEO of the Clark International Airport Corp.; Agnes Devanadera, president and CEO of the Clark Development Corp.; Noel Manankil, president and CEO, Lipad; and Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo.
