LUCENA CITY — Police arrested Tuesday an armed drug suspect and his associate in Candelaria town in Quezon province.
Ranier Regulto and Ruel Umali were collared in a buy-bust operation around 5:45 p.m. in Barangay San Isidro, the Quezon police said in a report Wednesday, March 29.
Umali tried to pull out a caliber .9mm pistol to engage the cops in a shootout, but was immediately disarmed, the police said.
Authorities seized four sachets of shabu worth about P18,360 in the street market.
The police also confiscated Umali’s unlicensed handgun loaded with 10 bullets.
The suspects are facing complaints of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Umali will also be charged with another case for illegal possession of a firearm.
