68-year-old widow, cohort nabbed for over P8 million worth of ‘shabu’ in Iloilo

MANILA, Philippines — A 68-year-old widow and her cohort were arrested in a drug sting that yielded over P8 million worth of suspected crystal meth or shabu, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Tuesday.
Suspects identified as Estrelita Bueno, also known as “Madam Ester,” and Noel Llagas, 27, were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Buhang in Jaro town on Monday.
“Bueno, a widow… is considered a big-time drug suspect,” the PNP said in a statement.
Seized from the suspects are suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P8,160,000 and other personal items.
The suspects are now under the custody of Iloilo City Police Station 3, facing charges in violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. —MJ Soriano, trainee
