1,200 get tickets on 1st day of motorcycle lanes

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) apprehended more than 1,200 motorists on the first day of the full implementation of the exclusive motorcycle lane along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City. According to the MMDA, it issued violation tickets to 482 motorcycle riders and 757 private vehicle drivers as of Monday noon. The motorcycle lane located on the third lane from the sidewalk of Commonwealth Avenue was meant to reduce road accidents involving motorcycles. Violators will be fined P1,200 while motorcycle drivers, including private vehicle drivers, will be fined P500.
