Bulacan cops intensify manhunt to arrest killers of chief of town police
CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — Authorities in this province have intensified their manhunt operation to arrest two robbery suspects in the killing of the chief of police of San Miguel town.
Bulacan Police Director Col. Relly Arnedo said one of the two suspects in the slaying of Lt. Col. Marlon Serna of San Miguel town could be seeking medical treatment at a hospital due to a bullet wound.

Arnedo said lawmen have closely monitored all medical facilities in the province and nearby areas.
The other suspect had hack wounds after a store owner fought back using a bolo during the robbery attempt in San Miguel’s Barangay San Juan on Saturday, March 25.
Article continues after this advertisementSerna, who was aboard his car, was gunned down by the culprits when the police officer responded to the robbery and chased them until San Ildefonso town around 10 p.m.
Article continues after this advertisementMaj. Norweda Usman, Bulacan public information officer, said Serna sustained a bullet wound to his head and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.
Usman said that Serna’s minor nephew, who was with him during the chase, suffered bruises.
Arnedo created a Special Investigation Task Force to arrest the assailants immediately.
A P1.2-million bounty was offered by Gov. Daniel Fernando and the police for any information that could lead to the identification and arrest of the culprits. INQ
