2 suspects yield close to P500,000 ‘shabu’ in Bulacan

CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — Two alleged illegal drug traders yielded almost P500,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) after their arrest on Tuesday, March 21, in two separate anti-narcotics operations in the province.

Colonel Relly Arnedo, Bulacan police director, said in a report Wednesday that police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents arrested at 8 p.m. Armando Aguilar, 53, in Barangay Partida, Norzagaray town.

Aguilar, a native of Quezon province, temporarily resides in Norzagaray’s Barangay Poblacion and works there as a tricycle driver.

Seized from him were eight sachets of shabu worth more than P151,000 and a .38-caliber revolver.

Arnedo said Aguilar was on the Philippine National Police-PDEA unified drug watch list.

In San Miguel town, Christoper Ruvas, 59, from San Pedro City, Laguna province, was collared at about 3:30 p.m. after allegedly yielding 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000 in Barangay Tartaro.

Arnedo said the suspects were charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Aguilar also faces a separate charge of violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. INQ
