4 nabbed, ‘shabu’ worth P68,000 seized in Cebu City

MANILA, Philippines – Anti-narcotics operatives arrested four suspected drug individuals and seized P68,000 worth of crystal methamphetamine, or “shabu,” in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Basak Pardo (a drug-cleared barangay), Cebu City, said the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Wednesday.

In a statement, PDEA Regional Office 7 identified the suspects as Romeo Lausa, Cristelluna Capacite, Junel Dejos, and Jedd Ryan Dejos.

PDEA said Lausa was “the subject of the operation” and a maintainer at the alleged drug den and Capacite was an employee, while the other two suspects with the surname Dejos were both “drug den visitors.”

PDEA confiscated six packs of suspected shabu weighing approximately 10 grams, buy-bust money alleged to be drug sales earnings, and various drug paraphernalia.

The suspects will be charged with violations of Sections 5, 6, 7, 11, and 12 of Article II of Republic Act 9165.

Meanwhile, PDEA said the drug evidence has been submitted for chemical examination.

“Continuous monitoring and validation of illegal drug activities and conduct of anti-illegal drug operations in drug-cleared barangays are critical to ensure that barangays are able to maintain their drug-cleared status,” PDEA said.
