Man shot dead by drinking buddy in Rizal

LUCENA CITY — A drinking session between friends in Rodriguez town in Rizal province turned bloody on Monday, March 20, after one of them shot and killed the other due to an altercation.
The Calabarzon police said in a report Tuesday, March 21, that Gilbert Orubia and his still-unidentified buddy were having a drinking session around 10:30 p.m. in Barangay San Agustin.
A heated argument ensued between the two drinkers that prompted Orubia’s partner to shoot his buddy with a handgun, the report said.
The gunman fled after the shooting and left the victim dead on the spot from a fatal gunshot wound.
An investigation is ongoing to establish the motive behind the incident.
