MANILA, Philippines — The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Monday warned the public against scammers soliciting goods and money while posing as its officials.

According to CAAP in a public advisory, all CAAP officials and personnel “have never and will never solicit goods and/or money from any private person or entity.”

“This is in light of several recent reports received by the CAAP Management of such acts of solicitation by unscrupulous individuals purporting to be the CAAP Director General and other CAAP Officials, which this Authority does not tolerate,” said CAAP.

The agency then urged the public to be vigilant and report any similar activities so that it could file the appropriate charges against them.

“Finally, we inform the public that all communications from our office and personnel shall only be done through official channels,” it added.
