MANILA, Philippines — Warmer weather conditions are expected to prevail over the weekend — and in the coming days — as the low-pressure area (LPA) east of Visayas has evaporated, while the northeast monsoon continues to weaken, according to state meteorologists.
Weather updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Friday afternoon showed mostly clear skies over the country, with only a few cloud bands east and north of the country due to the amihan.
The LPA was last seen east of Samar province. With the LPA’s dissipation, no weather disturbances have been monitored inside the Philippine area of responsibility.
For Saturday, warmer days are expected over Luzon, with Tuguegarao possibly registering temperatures of 22 to 34 degrees Celsius; Laoag and Metro Manila with 22 to 31 degrees; Baguio with 14 to 25 degrees; Tagaytay with 21 to 30 degrees; Legazpi with 24 to 30 degrees; and Puerto Princesa with 25 to 32 degrees.
For Visayas and Mindanao, the eastern side would have lower temperatures at 24 to 29 degrees Celsius and 24 to 30 degrees for Cagayan de Oro and Tacloban, respectively. The rest would have warmer days at 25 to 21 degrees for Cebu; 26 to 31 degrees for Iloilo; 25 to 32 degrees for Zamboanga; and 24 to 33 degrees for Davao.
Pagasa’s weather outlook showed that the warm temperatures on Friday and Saturday might even increase in the coming week, as Metro Manila may have something between 21 to 34 degrees Celsius on Tuesday; and Cebu with 26 to 32 degrees on the same day.
As of now, no gale warning has been raised on any part of the country’s waters, which means fisherfolk and small boat operators can set sail freely.
