MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives has filed a total of 13,454 measures since 2022, Speaker Martin Romualdez said on Sunday.
According to Romualdez, these measures were filed from July 25, 2022, to December 27, 2024, comprising 11,241 bills, 2,212 resolutions, and one petition.
The total includes 1,368 measures that have already been approved, including 166 that became Republic Acts — 73 national laws and 93 local laws — as well as 1,319 committee reports.
Romualdez described the achievement as a “new standard for productivity and purpose” in Congress.
“This Congress has set a new standard for productivity and purpose. Our collective achievements reflect our deep sense of duty to the Filipino people, ensuring that every measure we craft, debate, and pass uplifts lives, strengthens communities, and builds a resilient nation,” Romualdez said in a statement.
The Speaker noted that the number of measures translated to an average of 12 per session day.
As the 19th Congress nears its conclusion, Romualdez emphasized the House’s commitment to maintaining its momentum.
“We will not rest until every Filipino feels the impact of the progress we are creating—until we achieve a nation that is truly inclusive and empowered,” he said.
