Pamana groups receive livelihood assistance from DSWD

MANILA, Philippines — The Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (Pamana) groups in the City of Victorias, Negros Occidental received livelihood assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI worth P600,000.

According to the DSWD Western Visayas’ Facebook page, Barangay X Mauswagon Farmers Association got P300,000 for their proposed rice retailing project.

Meanwhile, for their retailing of carabao’s milk products, Barangay XI Timawa Buncio and Cansilayan Association also received the same amount.

Rhea Nabos of Barangay X also received financial support of P15,000 for her planned Sari-Sari store business.

The DSWD said that the Pamana is “the government’s peace and development framework” intended to support all existing governance and development initiatives on the ground while also addressing and enhancing peace-building, reconstruction, and development in conflict-affected regions. – Kimberly D.
