MANILA Philippines —The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has distributed the third tranche of relief aid for families displaced by a fire that gutted 1,200 houses in Davao City late February.
According to a Facebook post of Vice President Sara Duturte on Thursday, 983 families in total received relief goods boxes, of which 623 families are from Barangay 21-C, while the remaining 360 beneficiaries were from Barangay 22-C.
Victims are from fire-stricken households who are concurrently still living at evacuation centers stationed in the barangays’ covered court and gymnasium.
The OVP said that it earlier conducted the first tranche of relief operations just two days after the fire struck the municipality.
The second tranche of relief goods was distributed just last Friday.
‘’Nagpapasalamat tayo sa Philippine National Police, Task Force Davao, at iba pang volunteers sa agarang pag responde para sa ating mga kababayan na nangangailangan ng tulong,’’ Duterte said.
