OVP to distribute over P11.4M to hospitals, health workers amid spread of COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — The Office of the Vice President said it will distribute over P11.4 million worth of funds from its office and donation collected to aid in the government’s response to the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The OVP said of this amount, P5.6 million came from its office while over P5.8 million came from donations.
The funds will be used for health workers serving as “frontliners” in fighting COVID-19.
“Thank you very much for the generous souls out there. The distribution starts tomorrow (Monday). If you know of other suppliers, please send to us their contact numbers,” Vice President Leni Robredo said in a Facebook post on Sunday.
“We will provide you with the list of hospitals and communities included in the first batch. Our list is getting longer, many of them coming from regional, provincial and local hospitals. We hope we will be able to provide for everyone,” she added.

The donation drive will run until April 14, 2020.
As of Sunday evening, there are 140 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country, with the death toll reaching 12.
