P146,600 worth of shabu seized in Masbate buy-bust

A 39-year-old motorcycle driver was killed after he was hit by a truck in Uson town, Masbate province on Thursday (March 2), police said.

MASBATE CITY – Authorities arrested an electronics technician and recovered shabu (crystal meth) worth P146,600 during a buy-bust operation in Uson town in Masbate province on Wednesday (March 15), police reported Thursday (March 16).

John Vincent Baroti, 23, was arrested by police and members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Bicol at his residence in Barangay (village) Crossing at 9:30 p.m. after selling shabu to a poseur buyer, Uson police reported.

During the operation, seven heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 22 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P146,600, a genuine P500 bill used as buy-bust money, and other non-drug items were seized.

Baroti and the confiscated evidence were now under the custody of the Uson police.
