Bongbong Marcos named adopted son of Camarines Sur

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is now an “adopted son” of Camarines Sur province, the bailiwick of his closest rival in the 2022 elections — former Vice President Leni Robredo. 

Camarines Sur governor Luigi Villafuerte on Thursday announced that the province’s Sangguniang Panlalawigan passed a resolution declaring Marcos as an adopted son of the province.

“For all that you have done for the province of Camarines Sur, as a way of expressing our everlasting gratitude for all that you have done, please allow me to present to you the resolution by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Camarines Sur, declaring you, Mr. President, as the adopted son of Camarines Sur,” he said in his speech during the groundbreaking ceremony of the government’s housing project in the province.

Marcos visited Camarines Sur for the launching of a “Kadiwa ng Pangulo” outlet in the province and the groundbreaking ceremony of the housing project.

He will also lead the distribution of P826.1 million worth of interventions to Bicol farmers.

Based on data from the 2022 elections, Marcos Jr. only garnered over 93,000 votes in Camarines Sur,  behind Robredo’s 870,965 votes.
