Pagasa: LPA off Samar may dissipate, rainy Thursday expected in parts of PH
MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area off Samar may dissipate but is expected to trigger rainfall in some parts of the country on Thursday, the state weather bureau said.
As of 3:00 a.m. Thursday, the LPA was located 125 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, according to Benison Estareja, weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
“Mababa ang tiyansa na itong low pressure area ay maging isang bagyo, at posible na din malusaw sa susunod na 24 oras,” Estareja said.
(The low pressure area has a slim chance of becoming a tropical cyclone and could dissipate within 24 hours.)
“However, ngayong araw po ay magpapaulan pa rin ang LPA sa ilang parte ng Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao,” he added.
