Pagasa says up to one tropical cyclone may enter PH this March

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Wednesday that the country may expect zero to one tropical cyclone for the month of March.
Citing their climatological data for this month, the state weather service said that “zero to one tropical cyclone could enter or form the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).”
Pagasa weather specialist Daniel James Villamil said that the possible tropical cyclone this March may hit Eastern Visayas or the Caraga Region. But, he also said, they are not seeing any tropical cyclone forming or entering the PAR in the coming days based on their latest data.
Meanwhile, Villamil said the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” and shear line may continue to bring overcast skies with rain over parts of Luzon and Visayas.
Pagasa’s forecast indicated that the Bicol Region Eastern Visayas, Caraga Region, and Davao Region will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line or the weather system forming when cold and warm winds converge.
Pagasa likewise said that Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, Marinduque, Romblon, and Oriental Mindoro will experience cloudy skies with rain due to the northeast monsoon.
As for Metro Manila and the rest of the country, the state weather bureau said fair weather with partly cloudy to cloudy with light rain to isolated rain showers and thunderstorms will likely prevail.
