MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday said text complaints received by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) have dropped by 93.3% since the implementation of the SIM Card Registration law.
“93.3% ang ibinaba ng mga reklamong natatanggap ng National Telecommunications Office simula ng ating ipatupad ang SIM Card Registration Act!” Marcos said in a Twitter post.

“Unti-unti nang nagiging mas ligtas ang ating digital space kaya naman patuloy naming inaanyayahan ang lahat na magregister na para sa panatag na pagnenegosyo, pagtatrabaho, at pamumuhay!” he added.
(Our digital space is slowly becoming safer so we urge the public to register their SIM cards to help them in their work, businesses, and lives.)

The Department of Information and Communications Technology earlier said the rate of SIM card registration reached 25.84% as of March 11. This translates to 43.67 million registered subscribers out of 168.98 million subscribers nationwide.
Subscribers have until April 27 to register their SIM cards.
The SIM Card Registration law was signed on October 22, 2022. It took effect on December 27 of the same year.
