MANILA, Philippines — Around 160,000 workers are expected to benefit from the planned Philippine Heart Center (PHC) annex at Clark Freeport in Pampanga, the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) on Saturday.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursdayb signed Executive Order (EO) No. 19 mandating the creation of a PHC annex at Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga.

CDC President and Chief Executive Officer Agnes Devanadera, in a statement, said Clark is “the perfect venue to provide accessible and quality healthcare services to the people of Central and Northern Luzon, including to more than 160,000 Clark workers.”

The CDC said that the PHC may be built on a 5.7 – hectare land inside the freeport.

“The hospital will be established, managed, and administered by PHC and shall amend the existing development plan to include the proposed programs and initiatives for PHC Clark,” said the CDC.

According to the EO, funding for the PHC will come from the Department of Health, as well as an approved budget for the center.

“PHC Clark is seen to help bring the medical facility closer to the residents of Central and Northern Luzon which will also lead to save more lives,” said the CDC.
