LUCENA CITY — Police nabbed a “high-value” target and seized P1.5 million worth of high-grade marijuana leaves or “kush” in a buy-bust operation on Thursday, March 9, in Antipolo City.
In a report Friday, the Police Region 4A said anti-illegal drugs operatives collared early Thursday Ardenel Andaya, after he sold P1,000 worth of “kush” to a poseur buyer in Barangay Mambugan.
Authorities then seized a kilo of high-grade marijuana leaves worth P1,500,000 in the street market.
The police were conducting further investigation to determine the source of the prohibited high-grade hemp.
Andaya was on the drug watch list as a high-value individual in the government’s war against illegal drugs.
The suspect, now detained at the city police jail, is facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. INQ
